Production process
SALTWELL is extracted from a renewable underground sea hidden underneath the Atacama Desert.
After the solar harvest the grains are purified and made food grade quality at BRCGS-certified production facilities in Cyprus.
Throughout the process, SALTWELL is rigorously analyzed to guarantee compliance with strict quality and safety standards.
Atacama desert, Chile
This mineral-rich sea water has a unique chemical composition. It is pumped to the surface from a depth of 30-70 meters and collected in ponds, also known as Salinas. The water is naturally evaporated under the Chilean sun. During the process, a natural chemical reaction takes place to unite sodium and potassium in a unique salt grain containing 35% less sodium than regular salt.
SALTWELL is not a blend. Every grain naturally contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride and minerals.
From Chile to Cyprus
The salt is harvested with dedicated machinery and shipped to the production site in Cyprus.
A unique refining process
At the BRCGS-certified production site, SALTWELL is refined with a process that was specifically created and developed during the years for its unique characteristics. The process includes multiple washing steps, screens, magnets and metals detectors. The final result is a food grade salt with a high level of purity, cleanliness and quality.
Packaging and shipping
After the refining, SALTWELL is packed with food grade packaging materials and shipped to food producers all over the world.
