About SALTWELL

A unique combination of sodium and potassium

Unlike regular salt, SALTWELL contains 30 % potassium – a mineral considered an essential health nutrient. It’s the natural combination of sodium and potassium in each grain that makes it taste and perform just like regular salt.

The WHO goal

High sodium consumption contribute to high blood pressure which increases the risks of heart disease and stroke. The WHO member states have agreed to reduce the global population’s intake of salt by a relative 30 % by 2025. As almost 80 % comes from processed foods, this is a pressing issue for the entire food industry.

An estimated 2.5 million deaths

WHO: An estimated 2.5 million deaths could be prevented each year if global salt consumption were reduced

The potassium in SALTWELL improves health

Unlike regular salt, SALTWELL naturally contains 30 % potassium. It’s a vital nutrient that helps regulate the fluid and acid-base balance in your body. The more sodium you ingest, the more potassium is needed to maintain good health.

With the natural taste of sea salt

The fact that potassium and sodium are both present within the same grain is what makes SALTWELL unique. That’s also why it performs and tastes like regular salt unlike manufactured salt blends.

Salt pond

From an ancient sea beneath the desert

SALTWELL is extracted from a million-year-old underground sea in Chile, South America. Beneath one of the Earth’s most arid and sterile environments in the Atacama Desert, mineral-rich sea water is pumped from a depth of 30–70 meters.

A unique grain is formed

Using an authentic sea salt method, the water is evaporated in open ponds under the strong rays of the blazing sun. During the process, a natural chemical reaction takes place to unite the potassium with the sodium. Finally, a unique salt grain emerges containing 35 % less sodium than regular salt.
